In de maanden mei en juni werkt Ietje aan haar onderzoek over de mol en het Noord-Nederlandse
landschap. Dit project, waar ze al langere tijd aan werkt, is gedreven door haar verlangen om naar dit
landschap te luisteren en haar zodoende te kunnen begrijpen. Maar hoe kan ze dit bewerkstelligen als ze
vanuit hetzelfde menselijke perspectief blijft kijken? Dit bracht haar naar de mol. Door onder andere zijn
ondergrondse bestaan en zijn slechte zicht verhoudt de mol zich anders tot zijn omgeving dan de mens.
Wat kan het perspectief van de mol ons leren? En hoe mollig kan Ietje worden?
Binnen haar onderzoek verwordt de mol als het ware tot de methode om het landschap te door-gronden.
Maar voordat ze dichterbij het landschap kan komen, zal ze dichterbij de mol moeten komen. Ietje
ontwikkelt een alter ego met de naam Graaf Mol. Ze transformeert tot deze hybride tussen mol en mens
waarin ze het menselijke en het dierlijke probeert samen te brengen. Vanuit deze gedaante verkent ze de
omgeving van Bierum.
Gedurende haar eerste maand in de Bierumer School is Ietje tot de ontdekking gekomen dat haar
externe zoektocht naar het landschap geleidelijk verandert in een innerlijke afdaling. Ze graaft in wie ze
is als mens en maker, maar ook in wie ze zou willen zijn als molmens. Wat betekent het om ondergronds
te willen zijn? Hoe klinkt mollenmuziek? En waarom tintelt haar neus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ENG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May and June, Ietje is working on her research into the mole and the landscape of the Northern
Netherlands. This project, which she has been working on for quite some time, is driven by her desire to
listen to this landscape and thereby come to understand it. But how can she achieve this if she continues
to view it from the same human perspective? This led her to the mole. Due to factors such as its
subterranean existence and poor eyesight, the mole relates to its environment differently than humans
do. What can the mole\u2019s perspective teach us? And how mole-like can Ietje get?
Within her research, the mole becomes, as it were, the method for understanding the landscape. But
before she can get closer to the landscape, she will have to get closer to the mole. Ietje develops an alter
ego named Graaf Mol. She transforms into this hybrid between mole and human, in which she attempts
to bring together the human and the animal. In this form, she explores the surroundings of Bierum.
During her first month at the Bierumer School, Ietje discovered that her external exploration of the
landscape is gradually turning into an inner descent. She delves into who she is as a person and an
artist, but also into who she would like to be as a mole-human-being. What does it mean to want to be
